The sound they have evolved, produced and developed has been referred to as "Celtabilly". Bluegrass, Rockabilly, many other sounds have evolved from traditional Scottish and Irish music over the centuries,This is their contribution.

A growing Rock orientated fanbase influenced an experiment that really worked, ( hence te play with words ), Full Throttle, this has surprised and pleased people from all over the world and received some excellent reviews. They recently teamed up with their producer Paul Kane on this project and produced a semi electric album with guitars, Keyboards and Irish flutes. This album along with their backlog is now heavily distributed and available and easy to buy on-line.

The gigs Saor Patrol have performed at have grown considerably in profile, such as The Edinburgh Fringe Festival, Taiwan Festival of World Culture, The "Rock and Blues Custom Show", The Scottish Drum Day in Glasgow, Dollywood in the USA, Ely Folk Festival, and Dublin's Gaeity theatre to name but a few. Saor Patrol continue to spread their unique music touring the world with future performances encompassing such countries as Norway, Sweden, Germany, Estonia, Italy, Ireland and Taiwan.
There is more to the band members of Saor Patrol than meets the eye, they are a band for a more complicated reason, which they dont always get the opportunity to convey to their auduence. They travel and perform to allow them to realise an equally fantastic goal.
They are all volunteers of the Clanranald trust for Scotland, a recognised Scottish charity, whose primary aim is the promotion of Scottish Cultural and Heritage through Entertainment and Education.
To this end they travel the country all summer giving traditional and educational talks in over 300 schools a year. they are also members of Combat International a recognised organisation that supplies trained stunt crews and advisors to the Film and TV industry. Although the band is separate from the Trust one heavily promotes the other at all times.
