Well as a result of over exuberance from Charlie he managed while jiggin to break some bones in his foot!!! He smashed it up badly, a week before he was due to go filming with 30 of his combat team, Combat International, on the new adaption of Snowhite and the Huntsman being filmed at Pinewood studios.

Charlie being no stranger on movie sets, Charlie made good use of the time networking and chasing new work for the Clan.
So there will be plenty of money in the coffers to continue with work at Duncarron. No money ? No materials, No work.

Thanks to Charlie and the Clan and their expertise and professional attitude towards filming and the Clans reputation for being the best, there will be more.

Well, lots of tin been happening back here in Scotland. Marcus got married to Paula and the ceremony was executed by Mark being the minister of the hand fasting and Charlie being the best man. Bristling with weaponry for the job in hand. For those that dont know this, the term "best man", came from the term , best man for the job, the groom would hire a friend or known hard man who would shoot or cut down anyone who tried to disrupt the wedding, hence the term best man for the job.

MPS Hamburg. Well, we did it again didn't we? We brought the Scottish weather with us. We've got to stop doing that!! The weather aside we've got to say, the crowd we had were absolutely amazing. Braving the with winds and driving rain to party along with us. We raise our glasses and tip our caps to you guys, brilliant! So, it's the U.S of A for us this weekend. Playing in front of what we're told, at least 20,000 people. Can't wait. Now we seem to have our sound fixed at MPS we really are going to start recording our shows for out live CD and we want to hear the crowd on it so, you know what you have to do... Noise, noise and more noise from you guys please!! Schelmish were at our hotel, what a laugh. At least I think it was and a thank you to Dextro and Picus for playing Solveig with us, a great version of it. We'll see you in two weeks at the next MPS. Take care. Steve.

Saor Patrol and the Duncarron Project.

Dear Supporters,

I would be extremely grateful if you would consider helping the Duncarron project by
doing the following :

Write, E-mail, and twitter the First Minister of Scotland, Alex Salmond, showing
your support for the Duncarron project.

Could we consider asking questions such as why is the project being
charged a high rent from the Forestry Commission and receives no help in
this respect.

We must remember the huge amount of work the project does with those
Long -term unemployed and others on Community service orders, and in
this respect it has been and remains to be extremely successful in every area. Alongside this we also have our role
in education, and hands on history in many Schools across the country.
Again highly successful and enjoyed immensely by all who take part.

If we can generate enough discussion about the project in as many forms
as possible across the internet, and other forms, the First Minister
will be obliged to visit the project.

This would help us to gain financial help and hopefully get the project
finished a lot sooner. Recently we had the BBC do a radio discussion
with us, and a documentary by Norman Stone is currently under way at the moment. Every effort will help raise our profile that bit further.

Thank you very much for your help and I look forward to hearing from you.

""Thanks to everyone who made it to our show in Wassenberg. We had a great time. Against doctors orders Charlie would not pull this gig. Marcus too as he had a terrible lung infection (lovingly given to him by Charlie!) No, instead of pulling the show, which isn't the Saor Patrol way, Charlie went off and shelled out for electric pipes (which is going to be very cool for writing new music-watch this space...)! So, two guys with serious lung infections, two drummers with busted arms and me with a bit of a sore thumb;-) and we still rocked. We're all better(ish) now and are going to hit Weil at 1000mph. Hope you're ready..? After the show we met are top friends Schelmish for a meal, trampolines, swings, slides and wine. A great end to a great weekend. See you in Weil.""

Gelsenkirchin

MPS Gelsenkirchen

Andre and myself picked Charlie, Marcus and Kev up from Weiss airport and set off to our hotel in Gelsenkirchin. After settling in we had a meal and hit the hay in true rock and roll style!! The MPS gig was pretty hard going ( 4 shows every day for the three days!). The shows weren`t the problem, it was the blazing sun. It must have been at least forty degrees and the sun was beating off the stage. Charlie described his brain as a boiling pan of pasta! That about sums it up!!
The festival itself was superb. Stilt walkers, fire shows and walking plants... at least i think there was or my brain may have turned into soup from the heat!
Even though the heat was searing, the fans went crazy for us and bought CD`s, T- shirts and DVD`s they wanted photographs and autographs. A really cool bunch of people, we loved it!!
Before the gig we noticed there were quite a lot of English at the hotel... then more arrived, and more, then our worst fears were realised. Champions League football between Manchester United v Shalke 0-4 nightmare!! Anyway, we left them to their rude and arrogant ways (spilling drinks and smashing glasses with no apologies) and went for a meal. After the meal, the drinks started flowing and we all had a great laugh then, against all the warnings, it`s written on the website, the signs were there Charlie bought me whisky! Oh dear...
As you may know, Saor Patrol is part of the Clanrannald trust. Part of this trust involves film work and combat work... After a few whiskies i though it would be a great idea to ask Charlie to show some combat moves. What the hell possessed me. I was thrown about the pavement like a rag doll. I woke up in the morning covered in bruises and scratches. That will learn me. A word to the wise. DO NOT GET WHISKY DRUNK WITH CHARLIE AND ASK HIM TO BEAT YOU UP!!! On saying that, i was laughing while being chucked around.
Next we go to Bad Sackingen via visiting our friends from Schelmish for a party.... Could be messy so stay tuned.....

The Road trip to Chamonix

Well, first of all i`d like to give a huge tip of the cap to Joe Owens. A brilliant guitar player who sadly had to leave the band. I have the dubious task of filling his shoes... I ope i fit into them!
The road trip to Chamonix eh...? (deep breath time...). I`m Steve, we started by Kev picking me up from my flat in Edinburgh, driving through to Marcus`s, having a coffee and planning oor trip. Fae Roslin in the van (in total comfort) down to Hull where the three of us caught the ferry to Zeebrugge ( Charlie and Mark had commitments in London).
Anyhoo, we got onto the ferry had 50 pints of lager each and went to bed at 7am.... ( actually had a sniff of a wine gum and were in bed by ten!!) We then drove from Holland, through Belgium then to Bonn in Germany(?) to pick up CD`S, T- shirts and a tent, a wee bit into Switzerland, in tae France, up the alps and finally arrived at stupid o clock in the morning in Chamonix to do a gig! What a blast! Gig was great got to bed a little bit "tired and emotional" ( that means drunk!!) After that it was off to Berlin....

Berlin

Getting to Berlin was an event in itself! How do i start? I`ll give it my best shot... We all piled into the van and set off with Marcus`s dodgy map and the marvel of Google maps. Anyway we set off, in the the van of justice! five of us, and lets face it, we`re not all a bunch of small blokes it wiznae exactly the comfiest of road trips, road foods, multiple coffees, me on loads of Red Bull as you can imagine five blokes, cramped in a wee van, full of caffine... it wiznae exactly the Waltons!! We had A GREAT LAUGH!
Arriving in Berlin after 15 hours driving with a new and very scared new driver (Andre).
A new festival for Saor Patrol and what a festival! Two half hour sets in the afternoon and the big one at night on both Friday and Saturday. If you can imagine lighting the blue touch paper by playing the afternoon gigs, the night time gig simply exploded! 2000 crazy Berliners going nuts!! During the gig we had little kids on stage dancing with us. We did our set and they wouldn`t lets us off the stage! It was unbelievable!! When we eventually got off the stage, we met amazing new people, signed autographs had photographs taken, it was amazing!! And Berlin was just the start of this dizzying twenty German festivals alone and that doesn`t include Italy, Scotland and America! They called The Stones a hard working band!! So, that was Berlin, now the madness of MPS....
